Stoos Ridge Hike from Klingenstock to Fronalpstock
It is considered one of the most beautiful high-altitude trails in Switzerland: the stair-steeped ridge trail from the Klingenstock to the Fronalpstock. It offers views of over 10 Swiss lakes and countless alpine peaks in central Switzerland. Various alpine flowers can be discovered along the way. Even the journey to the start of the hike is an experience. The world's steepest funicular railroad (Schwyz/Schlattli-Stoos) runs to the car-free village of Stoos at 1300 meters above sea level, in addition to the Morschach-Stoos aerial cableway. It has a gradient of 110 percent at the steepest point. After a walk through the small mountain village, you can take the chairlift to Klingenstock (operating times depend on season and weather). Of course, the ascent can also be made on foot. The ridge trail is short but intense. Even though the tricky parts are well secured with chains, a certain amount of steady footing and fitness are definitely an advantage.
